A shower chair with a back is a water-resistant seat built on a rust-resistant aluminum frame with an integrated backrest, height-adjustable legs and non-slip feet, so someone with limited mobility can sit down to shower instead of standing. The back and the armrests are the safety features, not the comfort features: they give the user … Read more
The riskiest thirty seconds in a senior’s day is not the stairs. It is the half minute spent lowering onto a standard toilet and pushing back up off it, which is exactly when a low bowl forces the hips and knees into deep flexion and the hands to grab a towel rack, the toilet-paper holder, … Read more
The best toilet safety rail for an elderly parent is the Medline Toilet Handle Safety Rail (MDS86100RF), because it bolts to the existing seat bolts, folds flat for storage, and gives you both height and width adjustment without drilling a thing. That is exactly the problem a shower transfer chair is built to delete. … Read more
If you are around six feet or taller and your feet dangle on a standard toilet, the fix is not a thicker cushion. It is more seat height. A conventional bowl sits 14 to 15 inches off the floor, which leaves a tall user with ten or eleven inches of lower leg hanging in the … Read more

Both sides … Read more
